Misconception
- Growth
- Resistance training WILL NOT stunt the growth of a child.
- Strength/Resistance training has favorable influence of growth at any stage of development.
- Participation in an exercise program that includes resistance training and weight bearing activities, such as strength training, has shown to enhance bone density in children and adolescents.
Injury Prevention
- Regular participation in a strength and conditioning program can increase a young athlete’s resistance to injury.

Goal
