My son runs high school Xc, winter track and spring track. I’m looking for some private training to help shave time off his runs. Can you please provide me with more information about your program .

Hi JoAnn,
Thanks for reaching out to us here at Parisi Morristown. The first thing we would do with your son is an evaluation where we have him do a warm-up followed by a series of speed, power, and agility tests during which we record times/measurements and analyze function movement (i.e. squat form, running form, change of direction technique, jumping/landing efficiency, etc.) throughout the session. Afterward, we like to sit with the athlete and their parent(s) to discuss the functional pros/cons of how they performed and what aspects of his/her athleticism they may need more work on, as well as, how to improve in all areas. Here is where we can guide you toward recommended classes based on individual needs.
Following the evaluation, we can discuss your individual needs regarding time frames and frequency so that we can properly present which options fit your athlete’s needs the best. The evaluation is $50, but when you register for one of our programs we deduct that off the price.
The layout of the classes – all of which are one-hour long and are offered at least once a day Mon-Sat for your choosing:
1) Linear Speed: this is our signature class where we teach athletes the art of HOW to run faster regarding arm action, posture/core, leg recovery, body angle, and the way the foot should hit the ground during both the acceleration phase of running and also the form associated with maintaining max speed.
2)Change of Direction: here we teach our athletes how to decelerate, stop, change direction, re-accelerate in any direction all while minimizing loss of speed, balance, and stability throughout the movements. Center of gravity management and explosive power are important components in this class.
3)Full Body Strength: this is no “arm day” or “leg day” type of class as we never use just one muscle group when playing sports so why train that way? Each work out focuses on engaging the entire body with functional movement and explosive power based exercises. Aside from developing relative body strength, there is strong emphasis on joint stability and close attention to form to make sure our athletes are doing things correctly and safely.
I hope this gives you enough of an explanation to come in for an evaluation for your son. Please call our office at (973) 539-2000 to set up an evaluation session with our team. If you get our answering phone, please leave a message with best return phone # and we will get back to you asap.
Best,
Jeff Boucher
