As you drive down the main thoroughfare in Garwood, NJ a bustling parcel of buildings will catch your eye. Once you see the sign proudly announcing this facility was established in 1979, you quickly realize you have arrived at the Gold Medal Fitness campus. It was just as the owner Gary Patti envisioned it, an athlete’s playground. In addition to the fitness facility, the grounds boast a Fit Body Boot Camp, an elite cycling studio, CrossFit and the crowning jewel, a Parisi Speed School.
Gary knows a thing or two about fitness as he was a respected world class wheelchair athlete. His talents, combined with his penchant for motivating others, certainly explains his longevity of 38+ years in this business. The Parisi Speed School, in Garwood, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary next year, and Harry Ambrosino has been at the helm as its Program Director for the last two years. It’s obvious Gary understands the formula to success, as he has recently opened another Parisi Speed School at East Coast Conditioning, a 22,000 sq. ft. indoor sportsplex in Edison, NJ.
Between the two facilities and five agile trainers, over 60 classes are being offered including such favorites as Strength Training, Change of Direction and Linear Speed. Not only do we focus on the physical skills of our athletes but keeping true to the Parisi mission, confidence, self-esteem and health awareness are addressed and adapted into good exercise habits.
Did we mention that our clients include professional athletes as well? Ray Graham (Houston Texans) and Mike Wilson (Boston Red Sox) have benefited from the Parisi Speed School methodology and became elite athletes. Regardless of aptitude or income, Gary Patti’s vision was to provide an opportunity to the youth of his community to be the best they can be through physical fitness. Passion plus Parisi Speed School is a guaranteed blueprint for success…just ask Gary!
