April 12: Fascia Training in Athletic Performance Workshop
8:00am – 12:15pm
If you want to get faster and stronger while avoiding injury, it’s critical you understand how important the body’s fascia system is to athletic movement. Modern research is showing us that fascia and connective tissues are far more significant than we previously understood. And they are highly trainable.
That’s why Bill Parisi, Founder and CEO of the Parisi Speed School, set out on a nationwide quest to interview the top leaders in the field so they could deliver the latest fascia training research in his paradigm-shifting books…Fascia Training: A Whole System Approach and Fascia Training In Application, which pack expert interviews, cutting-edge technologies, and proven techniques for improving athletic performance and reducing injury.
The Fascia Training in Athletic Performance Workshop (“Workshop”) is an extension of that research, providing Performance Coaches, Personal Trainers, Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Doctors, Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers insight into the latest research-based science and training strategies for optimizing athletic performance and fitness using fascia-aware training techniques that are proven to improve speed, power, agility, and injury resilience.
Learning Objectives/Outcomes:
- Attendees will be able to identify how connective tissues affect performance, compared to muscle, by reviewing a case study of two Olympic Athletes and how their genetic differences and training routines contributed to different performance outcomes.
- Attendees will be able to create progressive programming for enhanced injury resilience, fitness, and athlete performance by acquiring a deeper understanding of the microbiology of tendons, ligaments, and fascia tissue.
- Attendees will be able to describe Tensegrity and Biotensegrity and how to incorporate this new three-dimensional biomechanical approach of movement science into creating more effective programming for, general fitness enthusiasts, and field & court sport athletes.
- Attendees will be able to describe and utilize the concept of “muscle pulsing” in their warm- up and training routines and show how this phenomenon is the essence of all athletic skills.
- Attendees will either experience or view Hands-On Training techniques that address the body’s fascia system which plays a critical role in speed, power, and injury resilience.
