Team Training
Powered By PM4
Team Training with the Parisi Method 4 (PM4) is a unique approach. The PM4 method involves four elements. Specifically this program is targeted toward coaches who are wish to reduce the chance of injury, while also reaching an athlete’s physical potential, build confidence and boost team unity.
“Coaching is about teaching the right fundamentals!” –Bill Parisi
The four PM4 elements for Team Training are:
-
Active Dynamic Warm-up
- First every team training session starts with the active dynamic warm-up (AOW). Above all the AOW assist coaches and athletes to serve as a tool to improve conditioning and boost performance. During the AOW our coaches focus on dynamic movements. Dynamic movements increase body temperature and blood flow. After completing the 15-20 minute AOW your athletes will notice an increase in stability, strength, flexibility, coordination and endurance.
-
Movement Skill Methods
- Second the Movement Skill Methods center on four areas important to a strong foundation. To guarantee athletes get the most of their team training sessions we will teach them how to improve speed with high attention to detail.
- Deceleration – The ability to decelerate properly is a learned skill and a key factor for injury prevention. Learning this method allows athletes to reduce the forces placed on their body. Therefore it will decrease strain on joints, tendons and ligaments.
- Acceleration – Acceleration is the ability to apply a fast powerful force into the ground while also applying that force in the proper direction. In result, this is key to maximizing speed and athletic performance.
- Change of Direction – Specifically known as center-of-gravity management. Great athletes understand the relationship between their base of support and center of gravity.
- Maximum Speed – Your athletes will increase their speed as they increase their stride length and frequency. In conclusion athletes will learn how to have each foot come on and off the ground faster than ever.

Strength & Power Development
- This third part of PM4 is another four-step process that creates strength, power, and joint stabilization in the body.
- Lower Body – We perform exercises that maximize strength of the lower body and core. For instance a stable spine helps generate greater power. This is done through the hips by reducing energy leaks.
- Upper Body – We will perform specific movements using dumbbell, barbell, kettlebell, medicine ball, sandbag and partner movements. As a result these exercises will build strength and muscular endurance.
- Core Strength – A strong stabilized core is critical to every movement. Therefore core training is addressed in all four parts of this program with specialized exercises.
- Power Development – Power is created through repetitive training. Therefore learning how to apply force quickly through plyometric training makes all the difference in creating explosive power.

-
Total Conditioning
- Finally the last phase of PM4 focuses on athletes who want to reach an athletic potential that they may not be aware exists within themselves. The Total Conditioning Method will show coaches how athletes can utilize a high amount of power over a long period of time. Most importantly our focus on building endurance through body weight training builds toughness. In conclusion our conditioning techniques gives athletes the energy to outlast the competition.
