Bill Parisi Delivers Training Education to Strength & Conditioning Coaches at the NFL Combine

Each year at the NFL Combine, while fans learn about the future stars of the NFL, Strength & Conditioning Coaches learn the latest research in training and performance from Parisi Speed School Founder, Bill Parisi.

As the Executive Director of the Professional Football Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (PFSCCA) Parisi, along with Jerry Palmeri, former Head Strength & Conditioning Coach of the New York Giants in collaboration with the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) present cutting-edge training insight to this elite group of coaches the night before the NFL’s talent showcase event.

“It is always an honor to present and speak in front of this exclusive coaching fraternity,” stated Parisi, “Through the PFSCCA, it’s our goal to provide quality, ongoing, continued education for the Strength & Conditioning Coaches of the NFL as a collaborative group, in order for them to have the latest scientific information to provide to their players for the upcoming season.”

This past week, Parisi also presented to the group his personal research, which is the topic of the new book, “Fascia Training: A Whole System Approach” by Bill Parisi and Johnathon Allen.  In it, Parisi talks about the latest scientific findings, along with new training and diagnostic tools for increasing speed, power, and injury resilience using a three-dimensional, whole-system training approach.

“New science is being discovered and we as NFL Strength Coaches are fortunate to have people like Bill Parisi who help to provide this information and resources to our group in a way that is useful and can be immediately applied to our programming,” said Josh Hingst, Head Strength Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Recent studies are showing that our connective tissue network—or “fascia system”—is an integrated, full-body sensory-organ that is far more responsible for storing, releasing, and transferring elastic energy than was previously understood. Data is also showing that the traditional industry focus on training for speed and injury resilience via more strength is often slowing athletes down, inhibiting proprioception and increasing their risk for injury.

Parisi’s presentation and book explores the new evidence-based science of fascia training as explained by top experts in the field, including Stu McGill, Ph.D.; Dan Pfaff world renowned, Track & Field Coach who has coached over 20 Olympic medalists; Tom Myers, author of Anatomy Trains; Ken Clark, Ph.D.; Phil Wagner, M.D.; Tom Findley, M.D., Ph.D.; Michol Delcourt, M.S.; and Todd Wright, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Philadelphia 76ers.

“The information presented was cutting edge and something every coach at every level should be aware of to help prevent injury and improve performance,” shared Mark Lovat, a 20 veteran Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Green Bay Packers.
