My name is Andrew Patterson, Program Director and Owner of the Parisi Speed School in Edgewood, MD. I am taking you into the quick journey of my 5 months being open so far! It is such a great experience that I am looking forward to doing for the rest of my life, but don’t get me wrong, even in the short time of 5 months we have had our ups and downs. The thing that sets you apart as an owner and competitor is you willingness to fight, to dig down deeper then you ever have before because of the impact you are about to make by putting all of your energy towards your athletes so that they can be the best young women and men they can be when they are on your turf and when they are off your turf. In 5 months I have been pretty much forged by the fire of the business world, learning how to do things I have never done before and studying in ways I have never studied before. To be honest with you, I would not take back any of the hardships I have faced, the reason being is, failure has been the reason for my recent success, failure was a great indicator of what I was doing wrong and that there needed to be a change in my mind and attitude. When you step into something like a Parisi Speed School you want to create the best service out there and you want to create an outstanding environment, we don’t know what these athletes are going through in their minds or their personal lives, but one thing we do know, they are here to get better and to be encouraged to want more out of their lives!
One thing I do is I bring faith into my gym and inspirational videos on social media. I do this because the psychological aspect of an athlete is just as important as the physical portion of the athlete. So I want to bring positivity any way that I can, bring such an influence that these athletes lives can be changed forever. As an owner and a coach, through my passion, I owe it to the community to pour out every piece of me so that they soar into a successful life, even if they do not step onto my floor I want to say something that could change the mindset of an athlete right then and there. Faith is a big thing in our gym, if someone does not have faith in something then they will fall for anything. So I encourage athletes to put forth faith in any way possible and believe in themselves because on the other side of hardship is success!
Although I still want more athletes, I still want to get our name out there and still want to create a greater impact, we will take it day by day. We will continue to spread positivity and encouragement throughout the community in any way possible that we can so that continual growth takes place. I hope that any one that reads this will be impacted by these words and that’ll it is a constant reminder of why we got into training in the first place, because we LOVE it and because we want our athletes (Family) to succeed with us by celebrating their achievements. I am so proud to be a part of Parisi Speed School and I know as a franchise nothing else compares!
