Are all of those extra lessons & reps hurting your child?
Does your child play a skill based sport such as baseball or softball that consists of repetitive movements?
If your answer is Yes! Is your child taking extra lessons or working on working on those skills at home multiple times per week? What if I told you all of those extra reps could be hurting your child slowly over time?
This happens because all of those repetitive movements lead to muscular imbalances that could cause decrease performance and an increased risk of injury. Muscular imbalances can often lead or limited mobility or pain in the muscle and joint areas that are being overused.
Athletes (especially young athletes) need to train in multiple planes in order to strengthen their entire body and to help counter act those muscular imbalances to protect help to protect the athlete from repetitive stress injuries which can have long term negative effects on a developing body.
Which is why one of our main focuses at Prime Athletic is to support young athlete as a whole so they can continue to develop their skills in one or multiple sports while helping them prevent overuse injuries.
