October 2023, our first full month of All-Access.
On the first of each month, you can expect a host of content to drop for the month throughout the All Access dashboard as well as hyperlinked directly from this outlook post!
Research reviews
Isometrics and Jump Power...do isometrics help? do isometrics hurt? This was an interesting study to review and has some great practical applications to a youth/high school performance program. This review is LIVE right now!
A Deeper Look At Unilateral Training…this review comes from a neurology review publication and it’s safe to say I probably won’t review a neurology-based study any time soon (holy brain power, no pun intended). This research looks at how training one limb of the body impacts the adjacent limb and reciprocal lower limb. No spoilers, but this article was very applicable to training young athletes.
Masterclass:
Mini-Masterclasses & Webinars:
Our good friends from the Professional Football Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, or simply the PFSCCA, as well as the Anatomy of Speed crew, sent over a ton of great webinars from their 2023 and 2022 education events. Here’s what you’ll be seeing this month…
- Dr.Ken Clark on ‘The Anatomy of Linear Speed”
- Bill Parisi on “The New Science of Fascia Training”
- Dan Pfaff talking about “Optimizing Performance” from the PFSCCA event.
Second-to-Last note- in the Maximum Velocity Made Simple masterclass, I mention that if you have any video of an athlete you would like broken down to send it in…that is a very serious offer! You can email it to me directly at [email protected] and I will turn it in to a mini-masterclass or something of the sort.
Last note- Coaching QnA Call is going to go down this month, be on the look out for an email sent directly to you with the date and time. More importantly, I would like to field some questions for this call to make it great. Also, in case you can’t make the call time, your question will be answered! Be on the lookout for an email from me over the next week or so!
Okay, Coach, let’s make this month great!
KEVIN HIGAR
Hey Casey,
I like all of the new content to come at the first of the month. I plan out what I will be doing for the upcoming days and weeks, and having all of the new available info allows me to drop it into my schedule where it is most appropriate and provides the most benefit.
It’s uncanny how many times I have something come up, and right about that time an article or podcast or video pops up that addresses that very topic. Now, I know that could just be selective attention, but also, it’s a bummer when you have to address something, and then a few days later other research or info pops up that would have been a huge help had I had access to it earlier.
Thanks for asking us!
Kevin

Hey Casey.
I like the idea of a once a month drop.
