It’s not JUST an age thing when it comes to placement in Parisi classes.
The difference between Jump Start (JS), Total Performance (TP), and Elite Sports Performance (ESP) is one of age, physical and mental maturity, and ability level. We’ve had a 9 year old move up to TP because they were extremely physically capable and focused. We’ve had 14 year olds stay back in TP because they aren’t physically mature enough to handle some of the demands of Elite.
Understanding which classes your athlete takes and why is important for their step-by-step progression.
Jump Start (Ages 7-10)
Focus: Sets an early athletic foundation
The Parisi Jump Start classes utilize the most up-to-date research to build a young athlete’s physical foundation, improve their coordination and self-esteem. Our signature speed and strength training methods are serious, but all within a fun and friendly environment to ensure the young athlete is engaged and motivated to give 100%.
The Jump Start Program is proven to enhance:
- Coordination
- Running Technique
- Body Weight Strength
- First Step Quickness
- Flexibility
- Injury Prevention
- Self Confidence
Our Performance Coaches are specifically trained to motivate and challenge the young athlete, while providing age-level safe and appropriate training techniques and corrections that set a foundation for good life-time habits.
Jump Start is a must for any young person who wants to develop foundational athletic skills that will help them rise above their competition now and in the future.
Total Performance (Ages 11-13)
Focus: Support athletic performance through technical speed and agility training, as well as age-appropriate strength training.
The Total Performance classes utilize the most up-to-date research on safe athlete training techniques and injury prevention as it’s foundation. TP is designed to deliver a noticeable difference in athletic performance on the field or court. Your athlete will be faster, move quicker, and be stronger than they ever were before, guaranteed.
What prevents an athlete from moving up to the TP program? Physical and mental maturity is the most important one. To move an athlete to this level before they turn 11, we need to see superior physical ability and focus.
What might keep an athlete at this level before moving up to the Elite program? It is usually physical maturity and the ability to handle more advanced barbell strength training. Also, some 14 year olds are behind, ability-wise, and we don’t want to shatter their confidence by placing them with high-level 15, 16, and 17 year olds.
It is during this program that the athlete and Coach focus on the detailed specifics that are the basis for athletic success. We’ll help develop a struggling athlete into a good one, or a good athlete into a great one!
Elite Sports Performance (Ages 14-18)
Focus: Training focused on unlocking an athlete’s full potential in speed and strength.
Parisi Elite Sports Performance transitions Total Performance athletes to the next level. This program focuses on the progression of our signature speed-training methods. At this level, certified Parisi Performance Coaches use their knowledge and experience to individualize strength training for their athletes based on their abilities and specific goals.
Advanced Strength programming, including barbell training, and an even higher attention-to-detail on movement skills develop their athletic abilities even further. We’ve designed Elite classes to maximize an athletes potential and reach their goals on game day.
At this level, programming increases in difficulty and intensity to promote enhanced athletic performance.
This program refines athletes’ skills to maximize strength, aerobic capacity, movement skills, power, and overall sport performance. Athletes in this program will elevate their game to a higher level.
