Despite Speed School Closures Due to COVID-19, Network Locations Continue to Satisfy Their Athletes’ “Need for Speed.”
COVID-19 has made families around the country alter their lives, sometimes on a day-in and day-out basis. In the face of an ever-changing environment in cities and towns across the United States over the past few weeks, Parisi Speed School has been committed to our athletes maintaining some semblance of a normal routine.
Officials from all levels of government are continuing to stress the importance of physical activity. Even with facilities being forced to close due to state shutdowns, Parisi is dedicated to keeping its athletes active and engaged.
Sheltering in place and keeping social distancing are critically important to our overall wellness. However, so is finding a healthy outlet to stay not only active…but distracted.
Here are four ways that Parisi Speed Schools across the country are doing just that.
1. Increased Disinfecting Procedures
Prior to the beginning of state shut downs, Parisi Speed Schools increased their disinfecting procedures. This included:
- Complete disinfectant wipe downs of all equipment between sessions
- Designated training zones to limit contact between athletes
- Stricter rules regarding guests in the gyms
While many of the Speed Schools are now closed, cleaning procedures have continued to ensure the healthiest possible environment once athletes return. Chad Coy, Program Director at Parisi Speed School COMO in Missouri, is shown below cleaning his entire training space while his facility is closed.
2. Converting to Remote Training Using TrainHeroic
TrainHeroic has been the official programming software partner of Parisi Franchise since 2018. As a result, Parisi Performance Coaches were more prepared than most to quickly convert in-person training to remote training for youth athletes and adults.
Get The Free Guide to Ownership
Utilizing the TrainHeroic app, Parisi Coaches are able to share customized training programs with their athletes, review athlete results, and communicate directly with the athletes through the message board. Even though most athletes are home from school and have had their seasons cancelled, they are staying motivated by daily workouts delivered through this user-friendly app.
3. Maintaining Community through Social Media
The “See 10, Do 10” pushup challenge has gone viral on social media, and Parisi Performance Coaches and athletes are no exception. Joining in on the fun were Ben Jones, Owner of Parisi Exygon in Texas, and his Program Director, Cedric Antwine.
Both took it one step further on IGTV, challenging their athletes to an AMRAP of pushups in 60 seconds.
Casey Lee, Program Director at Parisi Speed School of Vermont, has double downed on his social media efforts during this time by:
- Sharing in-home workouts on IGTV and Instagram Live
- Hosting free webinars with industry experts
- Running motivational contests to keep his audience engaged.
Parisi Master Coach, Sully Parker of Parisi Fair Lawn in NJ, is having fun with his quarantine life, getting creative on his Instagram story with the “Poland Spring Prowler.”
4. Coaches Taking Advantage of the Opportunity to Engage in More Continued Education
In immediate response to the pandemic, Parisi Franchise scheduled weekly webinars available to the entire Parisi Network.
These webinars not only provide the opportunity to discuss any updates or changes with the pandemic, but open the floor for Parisi Owners, Program Directors, and Performance Coaches to support one another through this challenging time by sharing their plans and ideas of how to keep the business going despite nationwide shut downs.
In addition, Parisi Franchise has partnered with multiple industry companies to bring even more continued education to coaches during this time. This includes TrainHeroic, SKLZ, and Sparta Science. Parisi Franchise has always been committed to making the latest training information available to Parisi Performance Coaches, and now is no different.
As Founder & CEO Bill Parisi always says, “Every set back is only a set up for success.” Our coaches are taking extra time during this set back to set themselves up for an even stronger return.
One Team, One Mission
The health and safety of our athletes and coaches remains top priority. Now, more than ever, Parisi Speed School has come together as one team, with one mission – beat Coronavirus. Parisi Nation has proven that they are more than ready for the challenging days ahead.
Our vision to “Empower America’s Youth Through Increased Fitness, Confidence and Performance,” is more important than ever.
Though the coming weeks and months are still uncertain, one thing is for sure…everyone in Parisi Nation – Owners, Program Directors, Performance Coaches and Athletes – will stand together.
