Chicago Parisi Speed School Athlete of the Month
Meet “Prime Time” Timmy D
This months Feature Athlete is young Timothy D. He came to us this Winter with two goals. To get more explosive and gain speed. Timmy has the nickname “Prime Time” due to his abilities on the football field. He plays running back and corner back for the Chicago Bengals youth football team here in the city.
Check out the SGNI Youth Football Programs here.
Every month at the speed school we feature our athletes that are showing the most improvement, train frequently, and have the ability to lead others. Timmy has all of those qualities after just one month of training with us. In January, Timmy attending 25 classes, with many of those being 2 hours of training a night. With immediate improvements in his agility test and vertical jump and broad jump, Timmy has been very coachable and has shown the desire to improve his athletic base. He jumped up a full level after his re-test date. He even trained for an hour before his re-testing. Also, most recently, Timmy lead his first warm-up for a group of incoming teammates who were taking their first class at the speed school. Leadership is one of the key indicators of development and is a major focal point of the Parisi System.
Great Work “Prime Time”!
Timothy is 11 years old and attends the Academy of St. Benedict the African where he is a 6th grader. Although football is his passion, young Timmy also enjoys playing basketball and pretty much anything that keeps him active and having fun.
This Year Timothy had his favorite athletic moment to date. Each year there is an all-start football game for the league. Timmy was on that team which defeated the Joliet Ravens. He expressed that he played really well, but the whole team played so well together that day, that the game ended up being the funnest game he played in his young career. He tries to emulate his favorite player, De’Anthony Thomas a Wide Receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs. De’Anthony plays with such an intensity and drive that Timmy knows if he can channel that same drive, he will be ultimately successful.
As he gets older, Timmy is looking forward to attending either St. Rita or Mt. Carmel for their football programs. Looking beyond, Timothy would love to attend one of these colleges ( in order): Oregon, Clemson, or Washington. His favorite school is Oregon and would love to be a duck as his favorite player is also alumni. With math and science as his favorite academic subjects, Timmy aspires to be a mechanical engineer when he grows up.
Timothy takes all classes with us but his favorites are Change of Direction and Top Speed. His favorite healthy snack is his father’s famous Bean Salad. Timmy also enjoys Oysters, which many of peers find to be a weird food. Catch Timmy in classes this week. Thank you for reading everyone.
