Every athlete has their own story.
Better yet, every athlete is scripting their own story right now, and Parisi has been and continues to be an integral part of mine.
As a young baseball player I had always been one of the quicker and faster guys on the diamond. Speed was a strength of mine, and therefore at the time never gave thought to perhaps improving on that strength. In 2011 a college teammate introduced me to Parisi Speed School, and if someone then happened to tell me that in five years I would be as strong and fast as I am now– I would have told them they were a fool.
From the beginning I discovered an excitement as I was learning to use my body in a new and efficient way throughout the course of a sprint. This excitement was directed towards the realization that I could now see potential that was untapped. This fueled me. It was both challenging and fun.
My 60-yard dash became elite, and my burst running the base paths was not just better but noticeable. From a baseball standpoint this opened up doors for me, and in turn translated into life changing career opportunities.
Having grown up in a small town and attended a small college where there wasn’t a whole lot going on, it is now pretty cool to look back and see what I have been able to accomplish since, and it would be irresponsible to say Parisi isn’t a large part of the accomplisments.
In the two years after I graduated from Castleton State I played two seasons of minor league baseball during the summer, and became a Parisi instructor during the winter months. Furthermore, that combination of professional baseball and Parisi coaching experience led to a managing and playing opportunity in Europe for 2016, where a baseball team in Austria was looking for someone to come in to not just play, but improve team speed as well.
So what’s my story? I travel the world and play baseball, and that all began by starting small with the day to day, session to session, movement to movement training at Parisi.
If you’re an athlete creating your own story, make Parisi a part of it. Who knows where you may end up.
