After an impressive senior campaign, Sean Roberts has been named as June’s Parisi Sparta Athlete Of the Month.
In the 2017 season, Roberts went 7-2 in his starts with a 0.48 ERA. He totaled for 68 strikeouts while giving up just 35 hits and 10 runs, four of them being earned. He led the Pope John baseball team to a 23-8 record, a share of the NJAC American Division title, the team’s second Hunterdon Warren Sussex Tournament title, and a place in the Non-Public, North A final, something that hasn’t been done since 2011.
The ace was also named as a 2017 Player of the Year honor, awarded by the New Jersey Herald. He was announced the award back on June 24th.
Roberts is signed to play at Marist this upcoming baseball season.
